Old Town Road rapper Lil Nas X has come out as a gay.
The 20-year-old star used the last day of Pride Month to come out to his fans before encouraging them to have a closer look at the artwork and lyrics of his new record C7osure from his debut album 7.
The rapper took to Twitter to share the news and accompanied the brave post with a series of rainbow emojis.
The hidden symbolism over Lil Nax X's sexuality was contained in the cover for his EP, with the Pride rainbow visible on the side of the cover.
"Some of y'all already know, some of y'all don't care, some of y'all not gone fwm no more," the rapper wrote. "But before this month ends i want y'all to listen closely to c7osure."
The powerful and affirming lyrics for 'C7osure' are quite something. One moving verse reads, "True say, I want and I need to let go, use my time to be free."
"Ain't no more acting, man that forecast say I should just let me grow,
"No more red light for me baby, only green, I gotta go,
"Pack my past up in the back and let my future take a hold,
"This is what I gotta do, can't be regretting when I'm old."
Poking fun at those who weren't aware of the record's artwork, Lil Nas X posted a photograph of the artwork with the caption, "Deadass thought i made it obvious."
The Atlanta-born rapper's 'Old Town Road' hit with Billy Ray Cyrus has been sitting atop the Billboard Hot 100 since April and has even broken streaming records set by the Candian hip hop artist Drake.
His debut album didn't do badly either, debuting at number two on the Billboard 200 chart last week.
Now the star is enjoying unprecedented levels of success, it seems only right that he takes his show further afield, something he did last week when he performed with Miley Cyrus at England's Glastonbury music festival.
"My first time in another country!!! Insane," the musician tweeted.
