After the recent college bribing scandal that saw the likes of Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin arrested for allegedly buying their children a place at two of the country's most prestigious universities, the hip hop mogul Dr Dre decided to post a proud photo of himself with his daughter who is holding a Certificate of Admissions letter from USC.
The Still Dre hitmaker's caption read, "My daughter got accepted into USC all on her own. No jail time!!!"
However, while many commented on the savgery of the post which was no doubt directed at Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin and other wealthy, bribing parents, others weren't buying it, and instead chose to focus in on Dre's own personal endowments to the college his very daughter got accepted to.
"The caption has made me rofl..." one comment read.
Dre donated $70 million to create an academy at the university with his long-time creative collaborator, Jimmy Iovine.
"The vision and generosity of Jimmy Iovine and Andre Young will profoundly influence the way all of us perceive and experience artistic media," USC President C. L. Max Nikiasat said at the academy's unveiling.
He added, "USC provides an extraordinarily rich academic, research and artistic environment. We are committed to encouraging our students to use their intellectual and creative resources to effect change in all segments of society. Our goal is to ensure that the academy is the most collaborative educational program in the world."
While it was a donation and not a direct bribe, there were still those we weren't entirely sure of Dre's actual intentions. "Idk bro. I mean $70 mil? I think I might have been angry if my kid were rejected after all that $."
Another wrote: "You literally donated a building to the school lol."
