A few weeks back we reported that Justin Bieber challenged Tom Cruise to a fight in the famous Octagon under the UFC banner, and while Tom Cruise is yet to respond publicly, one man who has is head of UFC Dana White.
The Canadian hitmaker challenged the Hollywood icon before retracting on his comments saying: "Man I was just playing, it was just a random tweet I'm pretty sure Tom would probably whoop my ass in a fight."
However, TMZ has reported that the pop star has now 'agreed' to the fight the actor, who is 31 years his elder.
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) fans were all for the bout, which even attracted a glowing endorsement from the Irish fighter, Conor McGregor. And now Dana White himself, the man who gave us UFC as the spectacle we now know it is, has also endorsed the bout, with Ari Emanuel, the co-CEO of the William Morris Endeavor Agency which owns UFC, also getting involved.
Emanuel, a star agent who inspired the fictional Entourage character Ari Gold, reportedly arranged a call with Justin's manager Scooter Braun, with White 100% behind the unusual but intriguing matchup.
Speaking to Guerilla Cross Radio, White said: "I didn't know if it was real or not. I still don't know if it's real. Everybody is talking about it, but Justin hasn't contacted me.
"Listen, first of all, maybe Justin Bieber wants to fight Tom Cruise for whatever reason. I highly doubt Tom Cruise wants to fight Justin Bieber. I'm 50, I think Tom Cruise is 56.
"I don't think anyone who's 56 is looking to fight anybody.
"But I'll tell you this, if Justin Bieber wants to fight Tom Cruise, and Tom Cruise wants to fight Justin Bieber, we can talk."
White then added in another interview that he would be 'an idiot to not make the easiest fight to ever promote' in his career.
"Let me tell you what, I'd be an idiot not to make this fight," he told TMZ.
"That would be the easiest fight to ever promote in the history of my career."
However, judging by Tom's silence, I think he might just want to be left alone.
