PewDiePie Apologizes For "Insensitive" Demi Lovato Meme

The world's most famous YouTuber has apologized after he tweeted a meme about Demi Lovato that he later described as "insensitive."

As OMG Lane reported last night, the pop star was rushed to hospital following a presumed overdose and is thankfully awake according to a family representative.

In light of this, the Internet sensation, who has often attacked media outlets for misrepresenting his twisted sense of humor, uploaded a meme on his 15m+ strong Twitter account which showed a doctored image of a child with Lovato's face asking his/her mother if he/she could have some money to buy a burger. In its fourth and final segment, the caption then reads, "Buys heroin like a boss."

In lieu of the negative backlash, the star tweeted an apology which read, "Deleted meme. I didn't mean anything with it, and I didn't fully know about the situation. I realize now it was insensitive, sorry!".

PewDiePie, whose real name is Felix Kjellberg, is YouTube's biggest star, with over 64m subscribers to a channel that has accumulated billions of views- but he is no stranger to controversy.

The Swedish gamer has also used the N-word when commentating on a game and has also attracted widespread condemnation from leading media outlets for a string of anti-Semitic jokes.

Of course, PewDiePie apologizing for his own ill-advised humor is nothing new, but one wonders whether the online megastar will ever learn from his mistakes- mistakes which have seen the 28-year-old lose lucrative deals with the likes of Disney and YouTube.

Despite this, the vlogger, who is worth an estimated $20m, continues to grow his channel. He also sells various merchandise to boost his burgeoning fortune.

What are your thoughts on PewDiePie? Do you even know who he is?

If so, is Kjellberg, as he countlessly proclaims, misunderstood and unfairly represented by the mainstream media? Or is he, despite his mistakes, a well-rounded, intelligent human being who could teach the Jake Pauls of this world a thing or two about how not to be a douchebag YouTuber?

As always, let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
