Mark Wahlberg's Crazy Gym Routine Will Make You Feel Small

No pain, no gain is an annoying saying and one that is no doubt plastered across at least one of every ten gyms in America, but one person who lives by this mantra is Mark Wahlberg, who isn't only a great actor, but a bonafide gym addict.

The Departed star, who was once known as the rapper Marky Mark, famously fronted a steamy Calvin Kelin campaign with the British model Kate Moss, and at the grand old age of 47, Mark's merciless gym routine appears to have rolled back the clock, as he looks as good as ever.

In an Instagram Q&A session, Wahlberg went as far as to reveal his daily routine to his millions of followers. A devout Catholic and proud family man, the megastar begins his day at 2.30am, which sees him dive into half an hour of prayer followed by his first meal of the day- at 3.15 am.

This is followed by a gym session and then a shower when he's done pumping iron at the still unbelievably early time of 5.15am. If that wasn't making the most of your morning, the actor and producer then squeezes in a half hour of golf.

The day then involves cryogenic chamber sessions and numerous meals before he picks his kids up from school at 3pm. That then leaves him with 4 and a half hours of family time before going to bed at 7.30pm, It's fair to say that his infamous party days are well and truly behind him.

Of course, lifting weights also means a strict diet, which he said consists of "Steel cut oats, peanut butter and blueberries and eggs for breakfast.

"Then I have a protein shake, which is a Performance Inspired Nutrition vanilla latte shake, three turkey burgers, five pieces of sweet potato. That is at about 5.30 in the morning."

Already consuming more than most of us consume in a day, he added,  "At 8.00, I have about 10 turkey meatballs.

"At 10.30, I have a grilled chicken salad with two hard boiled eggs with olive, avocado, cucumber, tomato, lettuce.

"And then at 1.00, I have a New York steak with green peppers.

"Then at 3.30, I have grilled chicken with bok choy ... At about 5.30-6.00, I have a beautiful piece of halibut or a cod or a sea bass - some sort of white fish with some vegetable, maybe some sautéed spinach."

In other words, he spends most of his days in the gym, kitchen, and toilet.
