Global pop star Justin Bieber is engaged to the US model Hailey Baldwin, according to reports.
The 24-year-old is thought to have proposed at a Bahamas resort, according to hacks at TMZ. It is believed he asked restaurant patrons to make sure guests put away their phones before the proposal.
While Baldwin and Bieber are yet to confirm the news, Bieber's parents appear to have congratulated their famous son on social media.
Having only recently called things off with Selena Gomez, Bieber and Baldwin's engagement has certainly come as a surprise, despite the two having dated in the past.
Bieber's father Jeremy used Instagram to congratulate his son by writing that he was "Excited for the next chapter", while his mother Pattie Mallette waxed lyrical about the news on Twitter instead of just calling him in person seeing as he's their son and all.
Anyway, for those not in the loop with pop culture, Bieber's rumored fiancee is a fashion model and has appeared in many coveted campaigns, music videos and television shows.
As the name might suggest, she is the daughter of Stephen Baldwin, the Christian fundamentalist, and actor who has starred in films such as Born on the Fourth of July, The Usual Suspects and The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas. He also appeared in the British edition of Celebrity Big Brother.
While Bieber appears to have moved on from his first love and fellow troubled star Selena Gomez, fans of his haven't taken too kindly to the news.
One fan even suggested the engagement was a sham orchestrated by his manager to keep his star client in the headlines. This prompted Ariana Grande, who shares the same manager with Bieber and who recently got engaged herself, to reply to one displeasing fan, "You do realise we are human beings who love and have lives, right?
"Scooter (Braun) is a wonderful human being too who cares first and foremost about our health and happiness."
You tell em', Ariana!
Now, let's just see how long these marriages last.
