Emilia Clarke has broken her silence on the infamous coffee cup that somehow found its way into the final cut of the latest Game of Thrones episode.
A recent throwback photo of Emila smiling with co-stars Peter Dinklage and Jason Momoa even seemed to suggest that she may have been the culprit as she was holding a white coffee cup. Proving she isn't one to shy away from controversy, Clarke posted the photo to her Instagram with the caption, "Did I just stumble upon the truth here?! The cup bearer does not drinketh the Starbucks tea... oh and this ain't a spoiler just a lost wanderer coming home for a mid filming cuppa...."
The superfluous caption of Medevil speak seems to suggest that Emilia is a tea drinker and not a consumer of Starbucks coffee.
However, co-star Liam Cunningham told Conan O'Brien, "Emilia probably drinks too much coffee."
Clarke replied: "What a bastard! I don't even drink Starbucks.
"I have no idea whose it was. Liam's a cheeky one. The funny thing is in Belfast, there is no craft coffee selling Starbucks.
"Unless we've got the Americans in, some hotshot producer, and then we'll have Starbucks lying around."
"You've never seen a Game of Thrones cast member with a Starbucks in their hand because we don't get them.
"We don't get to be like, 'Yo, somebody go out and get me a mocha choco latte.' I've never had Starbucks."
Yea, yea, yeah, Emilia. The game is up. We know it was you... Or was it?
She continued: "My house is just littered with teas everywhere,
"I'll bet it was Liam. He's deflecting it - 100 percent. Like I said, he's a cheeky one."
In the 48 hours since viewers spotted the anachronism, HBO has now digitally edited it out.
