To American audiences, Suits actress Meghan Markle was already a household name, but when she met a red-haired heartthrob fifth in line to the British throne who goes by the name Prince Harry, she became front page news in not just her homeland; but around the world.
But unlike Prince Harry's past relationships, his love for Meghan appears to be more than just an ephemeral fling, and after a years' dating, the stunning brunette has left her job on Suits and even shut down her lifestyle blog The Tig, fuelling rumours that she is readying herself for marriage and a place in the prestigious family.

1. She was a briefcase model on Deal or No Deal
It's little surprise that one of Megan's first TV gigs was something model-related because if you haven't already noticed, she's absolutely stunning. A show which sees contestants guess which box is holding the top prize of $1,000,000, Megan dazzled participants whenever she was chosen to reveal what lay inside her box.
Speaking to Inside Edition, fellow Deal or No Deal models were quick to sing her praises, with one revealing that she "was always reading scripts," and "working on her craft."
2. Her first name isn't Meghan
Like many actresses, Meghan decided to conceal part of her true identity when she hit the big time and adopt her middle name, Meghan.
So what's her birth name? Well, low and behold it's actually Batman Bin Suparman. Just kidding; It's Rachel.
3. Her estranged half sister believes she is insincere
While Meghan appears to be perfect, her family has a lot of baggage. Just take the strained relationship with her half-sister, Samantha Grant. Suffering from multiple sclerosis, she claims her famous half-sister has taken a step back since her condition worsened, and she is now wheelchair-bound.
On top of this, Samantha has publicly stated that she believes her sister is nothing more than a "social climber" and believes her humanitarian efforts for organisations like the U.N are nothing more than a facade.
4. She wrote to Hilary Clinton at the age of 11 about gender equality
Prince Harry's girlfriend isn't just a beautiful actress, She's also incredibly intelligent, graduating from Northeastern University with a degree in theatre and international studies before doing an internship at the American embassy in Buenos Aires before pursuing her acting endeavours.

Because of this, Meghan described her most prized possession as the letter she received from her father when she landed her first pilot.
Keeping it in her jewellery box, she said, "The best handwritten note I ever received was probably from my Dad when I booked my first [TV] pilot, saying 'Meg, I knew this day would come. I'm so proud of you.' " Awh!
8. She owns a rescue dog
Meghan Markle owns a ridiculously cut rescue dog called Bogart, whom, like her beau, is also ginger! Sharing an adorable photo of Bogart online, the doggy was even clad in a Union Jack sweater!
On another occasion, a stylish Megan was papped in Toronto taking Bogart to the vet, with her little friend equipped with a cute waistcoat to fend off the bitter temperatures. Apparently, it was Ellen DeGeneres that convinced Meghan to adopt a rescue pup.

10. Before landing her role on Suits, she made ends meet as a part-time calligrapher
As well as modelling, Meghan made ends meet in her earlier career by working as a part-time calligrapher, which is a pretty impressive skill to have!
