Eminem is, by his own admission, a Rap God, so it only seems fitting that he should pass on his expert knowledge to aspiring rappers by providing a detailed list of words rappers should never use in their bars.
In a rare Livestreaming event posted on his Instagram account of what he called the 'hip-hop don'ts', the 45-year-old legend, accompanied by other accomplished rappers including Mr Porter, Royce Da 5'9" and The Alchemist, criticized lazy rappers who use uninspired and cliched rhymes.
One exampled the Not Afraid hitmaker used was the verse 'a pimp walking with a limp', while others, which didn't seem to add up grammatically, let alone sound good, were also pointed out by Eminem, who said, "If you have an emergency, it cannot be with an urgency. And if it is with an urgency and you are rushed to emergency surgery, you cannot be burned in third degree."
"And if you're gonna murder me, it cannot be like you never heard of me. You have to know me."
Another palm in the face moment included mobsters that eat lobster, dropping bombs on Vietnam and dying hard like Bruce Willis.
And then there were skills to pay bills, getting knowledge from college and telling truth in the booth- all cringeworthy at best.
Wannabe rappers should also refrain from telling listeners they have swagger like Mick Jagger.
All in all, Eminem and his buddies spat some home truths of what not to do in the booth, which has sadly put me off a career in rap as I genuinely believed I had what it takes.
If you need me, I'll be crying the bathroom...
