Ed Sheeran inadvertently admitted to a journalist that he had already tied the knot with his long-term partner, Cherry Seaborn.
In an interview with Access Hollywood, the global pop star flushed when he was asked about the wedding plans before saying "I do" and then pointing at his 'wedding ring'.
"What about the wedding details? Have you picked a date? Do you know where? Do you know when yet?" the interviewer asked.
A flustered Sheeran shrugged and smiled cheekily as he pointed to what appeared to be a wedding ring on his finger.
Knowing he had scooped an exclusive, the excited journalist wasn't shy about getting more details. "That's exciting! Congratulations my friend! Congratulations! How did you sneak that one?"
In typical Ed style, the humble pop star said, "Well, I never do anything too public anyway."
The news comes less than a year after the star announced his engagement to Cherry Seaborn on Instagram.
In a post that gave us serious relationship goals, the loving photo of the two was accompanied by an even sweeter caption. "Got myself a fiancée just before new year. We are very happy and in love, and our cats are chuffed as well xx."
The couple has been together since 2015 but have known each other since their days at Thomas Mills High Schol in the small English market town of Framlingham, Suffolk.
However, despite having a crush on Seaborn, who played hockey for the school team, they went their separate ways at 16 when Ed left Suffolk to make it as a pop star in London. Two years later, Seaborn travelled to the States to attend Duke University in North Carolina at the time Sheeran was attracting attention in the underground London music scene.
Leading two completely different lives, the Ivy League graduate then found herself staying in America after she landed a fancy job on Wall Street. By then, Ed Sheeran had achieved worldwide fame.
Seaborn is thought to be the muse behind a string of love songs, including his hit 2017 song, Perfect.
On behalf of everyone here at OMG Lane, we wish the gorgeous newlyweds nothing but the best.
Now, when's the new album coming out, Ed?
