Drake has confirmed he has become a father.
The 31-year-old rapper, who is one of the world's bestselling musicians, admitted on his new double album Scorpion, which was released last night on Apple Music, that he had fathered a child with the former French adult movie star Sophie Brussaux.
In the track “Emotionless,” spawned from a Mariah Carey sample, Drake admitted, “I wasn’t hidin’ my kid from the world/I was hidin’ the world from my kid/From empty souls who just wake up and looked to debate/Until you starin’ at your seed, you can never relate.”
“Breakin’ news in my life, I don’t run to the blogs/The only ones I wanna tell are the ones I can call/They always ask, ‘Why let the story run if it’s false?’ You know a wise man once said nothin’ at all."
Drake also revealed that he only met the mother of his 8-month-old son on two occasions before he got her pregnant.
“She’s not my lover like Billie Jean but the kid is mine/Sandi used to tell me all it takes is one time, and all it took was one time/ S—, we only met two times, two times." Sandi Graham is Drake's mother, who is the muse and sage counsel behind many of Drake's career choices.
Drake verifies in the track that his son was born Oct. 11 and revealed that he was in Miami when DNA tests confirmed it was his. However, Drake, whose real name is Aubrey Graham, confessed that he has only met his son once, during the Christmas holidays.
Aside from that startling revelation, the Canadian megastar's latest record features collaborations with JAY-Z, Nicki Minaj, Future and Ty Dolla $ign.
Most notably of all, Drake also samples the late Michael Jackson on the track “Don’t Matter to Me” which TMZ claims to have come from unreleased music from Jackson.
