After weeks of diss tracks that gripped the hip-hop community like never before, Eminem and Machine Gun Kelly's beef finally looks to be subsiding, but one man also drawn into the fight was Bad Boy Records CEO and hip-hop icon P.Diddy, whom Eminem claimed was responsible for Tupac's death. Well, kind of.
In the diss track Killshot, Em raps, "Killshot, I will not fail, I'm with the Doc still / But this idiot's boss pops pills and tells him he's got skills / But, Kells, the day you put out a hit's the day Diddy admits / That he put the hit out that got Pac killed, ah!"
However, Eminem later backtracked on his sensational claims, ending the track by joking, "I'm just playin', Diddy." Despite this, the 48-year-old doesn't seem best pleased.
In a recent podcast from another one of the Detroit rapper's nemeses, Joe Budden, Diddy is thought to have said that "it's in his hands." whatever that means.
Budden added: "Nothing to speculate about. Nothing to talk about. Puff said it's in his hands and he said I can tell ya. That's the end of that. He said, 'Yeah, there's nothing to say about it. It's in my hands.' He's wild. Period."
While the legendary rapper has attracted much praise for his latest album Kamikaze and the subsequent diss track levied against Cleveland rapper Machine Gun Kelley, other artists haven't been as impressed. The hip-hop artist Jay Electronica went as far as tweeting Eminem. The now-deleted tweet read, "How dare you accuse Diddy of killing Tupac while you completely look pass Jimmy Iovine and those who profited from his death the MOST.
"You best tread carefully Son, before I come tear your ivory tower down like Sulaiman done the Templar Knights. #ripProof."
The 13th of September marked the 22nd anniversary of Tupac Shakur's death, which resulted from a drive-by shooting following a verbal confrontation outside the grounds of a Mike Tyson boxing match in Las Vegas.
9 days later, his mother made the heartwrenching decision to turn the life support machine off. No one was charged with his murder.
But does Eminem know something we don't?
Whatever is going on in this squirmish, let's just hope for all our sakes these manchildren grow up and focus on the music rather than indulging in playground spats.
