Hollywood stars get criticised for every wrong move, and because they signed up for a life in the public eye, people expect celebrities to get on with it, even if they are routinely hounded.
However, many stars in Hollywood do amazing things which don't often get reported, like volunteering in care homes, funding scholarship programmes, or in the case of these 15 stars, taking in vulnerable orphans.
Adoption is a beautiful way to raise children, and we can forget that many children in America don't have a family unit, so it was nice to discover that many of Tinseltown's finest have gone done the route of adoption. Here are 15 examples.
1. Cate Blanchett
The Oscar-winning actress Cate Blanchett is known for being one of the more well-rounded and down-to-earth actresses in Hollywood, and as well as being self-aware of the world outside Hollywood, she is also incredibly kind, as she proved when she adopted Edith Vivian Patricia in early 2015.
Along with her husband, Andrew Upton, the couple also have three biological sons.

Denise Richards was 40-years-old when she adopted Eloise Joni in 2011. Adoption at any age is tough, but at 40, and with her two daughters with ex-husband Charlie Sheen, Sam and Lola, being 5 and 7 at the time, it must have been a busy time for Richards!
