Breaking Bad was one of the best dramas of all time, so when it finally concluded in 2013 after five riveting seasons, fans were definitely left wanting more.
Luckily for fans, they didn't have to wait long, as creator Vince Gilligan delivered a spinoff two years later called Better Call Saul.
For the uninitiated, the series chronicles the backstory of wheeler-dealer lawyer Jimmy McGill six years before he reinvents himself as the affable but arriviste defence lawyer, Saul Goodman in Breaking Bad.
Now 4 seasons in, the show appears to be moving swiftly into the Breaking Bad era, and creator Vince Gilligan appeared to suggest to the Hollywood Reporter that the overlap between the two shows could occur in the upcoming season, which premieres in August.
"It gets darker, it gets richer," he said. "It's still got funny in it, but on the Venn diagram of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, the overlap in the center is getting bigger and bigger.
"There is a very important character - I'm not promising you ever saw this character, but there was a very important character nonetheless from the Breaking Bad era who we're going to meet this year."
If you fancy binging on both Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul or one or the other, we strongly recommend you spend this weekend glued to your Netflix account!
