We all know that celebrities can be divas at the best of times, and though some celebrities make it their aim to remain grounded, others let the fame and fortune go to their heads and that's certainly reflected in these bizarre dressing room requests.
Here are some insane examples.
1. Mariah Carrey
Mariah Carrey's diva antics have almost become part of her image, and whether she's asking restaurant managers in Naples to turn on her music before she walks in or singing her ballads on a porcelain throne, Carrey's diva levels are always off the rictus scale, and that includes her wardrobe requests.
Indeed, the supreme-diva has been known to use chewing-gum attendants (a person who has to dispose of the star's spat-out gum), and request 20 white kittens. Still, who wouldn't want 20 kittens in their dressing room? We'll let you off on that one, Mariah! But seriously, a chewing-gum attendant?!
2. Ariana Grande
Before the singing sensation organized a tribute concert in memory of the Manchester bombing victims that had attended Grande's concert that fatal night, Ariana Grande was known in media circles as a bit of a diva, and it didn't help matters when she was caught on camera licking a doughnut in a shop without paying for it and then saying "I hate America".
But hey, everyone makes mistakes, though being an international recording artist, Grande still makes some weird requests at public functions, the most divaish one being that she only lets photographers take photos from her left side. Ariana, you're beautiful all over! You needn't worry. Not that her ego needed even more of a boost...
3. Marilyn Manson
Predictably, Manson's dressing room requests are quite unusual considering that he is the definition of an idiosyncratic artist, with the star often always opting for a "bald-headed toothless hooker."
Oh, and he also requests Haribo gummi bears.
The late American hitmaker was a fashion icon, and in the words of Franck Ocean, "He was a straight black man who played his first televised set in bikini bottoms and knee-high heeled boots, epic."
Yep, epic is definitely the word that springs to mind when talking about this singer, so it's hardly surprising that his dressing room requests were a bit out-there, an odd one being his insistence that everything in his dressing room is wrapped in plastic before he arrives.
5. Britney Spears
The Hit Me Baby One More Time hitmaker was arguably the biggest singer in the world in the late 90s early 00s, and as the years went by, her dressing room requests became more diva-like.
In one case, during a tour in London, she made sure a framed photo of Princess Diana was placed in her dressing room and warned promoters that if her telephone rang, they would be fined $5,000. Maybe just unplug the phone, darling?
6. Justin Bieber
The obnoxious, belligerent, man-child who can also sing has actually changed a lot in the last few years after his very public, coming-of-age, meltdown, but the Biebs still makes some pretty odd dressing room requests.
While a fashion icon for his outlandish, experimental sense of style, the Biebs prefers to keep things simple when backstage, requesting multiple packs of plain white T-shirts and low-rise socks in a variety of sizes. The 23-year-old has also admitted to throwing away his underwear after one use rather than washing it so we're presuming he does the same with socks and tees. How wasteful!
7. Justin Timberlake
Perhaps suffering from a mild form of OCD, Mr.Timberlake requires his dressing room door's doorknobs be cleaned and disinfected every 2 hours!
In fairness, most germophobes will relate to this, so we can't be too hard on the talented singer! After all, he can't afford to get sick and cancel shows now, can he? Mr. Bieber, take note!
8. Jennifer Lopez
While Jennifer Lopez would have us believe that she's still "Jenny From The Block", her diva demands since her career took off would suggest otherwise.
In fact, as well as refusing to take up accommodation in her old neighborhood in lead up to a special homecoming performance (she took refuge in a downtown 5-star hotel instead), Lopez's dressing room demands require that her room be exactly 25.5 degrees Celsius and that everything inside be white. Logically, no tomato juice is allowed.
Perhaps in recognition of the amount of jumping a DJ does on stage, the legendary DJ Moby requests that there be a minimum of 10 pairs of fresh underwear to change into!
Perhaps more practical than divaish, but weird nonetheless.
10. Naomi Campbell
Rebecca White once worked for the mercurial supermodel and admitted it was horrible because "she would intimidate and yell and gain her power by making people cry."
As well as her bullying tactics, the London-born star also made a plethora of diva demands, which included requesting lily-scented candles be in every room before she arrived. "There always had to be five candles in the bathroom, 10 in the bedroom and 10 in the living room," she revealed.
