The James Bond franchise is something of an institution in film making and has furnished the world with some iconic imagery, legendary lines and some absolutely smashing sound tracks and the theme music to each film has become almost as well-known as the films themselves and this trend came about by the producers of the film hiring some of the biggest stars of the day.
In recent years, the themes themselves have become massive hits and have been written and performed by such stars as Madonna, Chris Cornell, Sam Smith and Adele all racking up huge successes with their iterations on the theme song. Chris Cornell's 'You Know My Name' was the theme song to Casino Royale and was the most successful bond song of all time until Adele came along and blew it out of the water with her massive hit for the Skyfall film.
Other massive artists have written potential theme songs for the series of movies including maudlin rockers Radiohead who ended up releasing their track written for Spectre as a free download to fans after Sam Smith was officially awarded the theme song.
Anyway, as previously mentioned, in 2012, Adele released "Skyfall", which she co-wrote and recorded for the James Bond film of the same name. The song won an Academy Award, a Grammy Award, and a Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song, as well as the Brit Award for British Single of the Year, it sold ridiculously well and only added to her star power and so there was rumor circulating that producers were in talks with the singer yet again to record another Bond theme feeling that no one could really top what she has done.
This would have been a massive coup for the filmmakers if they could pin-down their most successful song writer down to do another track after recently confirming Daniel Craig will be returning to the lead role for one more film but something has recently stirred up the rumor mill even more than the possibility of another Adele song and has sent Bond fans into a frenzy.
Of the biggest stars in the world right now it is probably Taylor Swift, Adele and Beyonce and it would seem that perhaps producers are in talks with Queen Bey right now to sing the next theme tune to a Bond theme as she is perhaps the only person in the world right now who could match, or outstrip, Adele for sales of a single and possibility of writing such a critically well received song as well.
To confirm, this is little more than a rumor and must be taken with a grain of salt but sources have apparently told British newspaper the Dialy Star that this move is in works and it has got both Bond and Beyonce fans in a lather.
