With Beyonce confirmed to play Nala in the Disney remake of the Lion King, thoughts on the production have started to turn towards the music used in the film as the original had some iconic work that won Elton John an Oscar but to not utilize Beyonce's skills would be a crime and so word has it the pair are now working together on the latest project.
The New York Daily News has reported that the pair have started working together on such tracks as Circle of Life’ and ‘Can You Feel the Love Tonight’ in an attempt to reimagine classics from the original animated movie for a new audience which will then be weaved into the storyline of the film. According to the report, this deal is a huge one and will earn Elton John millions with a one-off licensing deal followed by a cut in royalties from all aspects of the work.
Whether either artist will contribute any original work to the latest motion picture is yet to be seen but this will excite fans of the 1994 animation who will undoubtedly want to see nod to it in the latest live-action remake.Beyonce is not the only star who will be lending her vocal talents to the film as a ream of other superstars making up the rest of the cast that includes, Donald Glover as Somba, James Earl Jones reprising his role as Mufasa, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar, Alfre Woodward as Sarabi, John Oliver as Zazu, John Kane as Rafiki, Seth Rogen as Pumbaa and Billy Eichner as Timon.
