Intelligent and inspiring female news anchors now appear on nearly every station you tune into, which is excellent news when you bear in mind that most facets of journalism- be it broadcast, print or digital- are still predominantly male-dominated.
Not only is this an incredible feat in itself, this power shift has also allowed millions of young girls the world over to watch the news an be inspired by female anchors that have more going for them than simply their looks, a definition of worthiness that is still sadly sold to malleable young girls to this day.
So without further ado, here are some of the most inspiring female news anchors working around the world today.
1. Kiran Chetry
Kiran Carrie Chetry has recently stepped away from the fast-paced world of broadcast journalism, but she remains a titan of her industry. Until 2011, Chetry was CNN's American Morning cable news anchor where she was praised for her fearlessness and no-nonsense approach towards interviewees.
During her time as a Fox journalist, which also entailed a six-year stint as a reporter, she met her ex-husband Chris Knowles, a former weekend weatherman. Chetry also made the top-ten list of Maxim's sexiest female news anchors.
2. Harris Faulkner
Harris Kimberly Faulkner is another Fox News Channel beauty who is one of just a few black females kicking ass in broadcast journalism. As the anchor for the Fox Report and a co-anchor on Outnumbered, Faulkner is one of the best-paid journalists on the channel.
In recognition of her continued success and viewing figures, Fox awarded Faulkner her own show called Outnumbered Overtime.
3. Erin Burnett
While the CNN anchor is now a staple part of the network's news coverage, Burnet might be most known to audiences for her work on The Celebrity Apprentice, where she served as an advisor to Donald Trump.
Away from CNN, the newscaster worked at CNBC as co-anchor of Squawk on the Street and also spearheaded the show, Street Signs. Other presenting credits include NBC's Meet the Press, Today, MSNBC's Morning Joe, and NBC Nightly News.
4. Susan Li
With her forthright reporting style and calm composure, Susan Li has fast become a favorite at Fox. Reporting for the business segments of their shows, Li's blossoming career has already taken her from a small Canadian television network to CNN's European and Asian offices. She has interviewed some of the world's most prominent leaders, including the Canadian leader Justin Treaudu and the American president, Donald Trump.
As well as questioning the world's most powerful politicians, Li has also conducted interviews with the Chinese basketball player Yao Ming, and Uber C.E.O., Dara Khosrowshahi.
5. Mélissa Theuriau
After studying journalism at university, Thueriau embarked on an incredibly successful career in French media, a career which propelled her to celebrity status after viewers and magazines picked up on her model-like beauty. England's Daily Express newspaper even voted her the world's most beautiful news reporter. However, the successful anchor spoke out against her newfound popularity. "I cannot explain it... I am absolutely not seeking this publicity," she said.
Away from journalism, the French host teamed up with five fellow French journalists to launch the charitable organization “La Rose”, which works with UNICEF to help educate girls in a variety of ways.
6. Jackie Guerrido
Jackie Guerrido is one of the most famous newscasters in Puerto Rico. As one of the main news anchors for Primer Impacto on Univision, Guerrido's start in life wasn't easy. She had to escape an abusive father and eventually settled in the Bronx neighborhood of New York City aged 17 before her talents as a news anchor were noticed.
Away from journalism, the talented journalist has also starred in the straight-to-DVD movie, AWOL-72 and also appeared on the reality television series, Mira Quien Baila!, a reality tv series fashioned on the American show, Dancing with the Stars.
7. Inez Sainz
Inez Sainz regularly sends pulses racing as the host of the Spanish-language sports interview program DxTips. Also fronting Azteca Deportes. Sainz, along with her husband, also owns the production company that created the show.
As well as presenting a series of national team soccer matches, Sainz now works as a boxing presenter speaking in the English language.
8. Sara Cobernero
Sara Carbonero Arévalo is one of Sapin's foremost sports journalists. For the past two decades, she has been informing viewers of Telecinco about all the latest sporting matters until her husband, the professional soccer player, Iker Casillas, joined FC Porto in July 2015.
However, her integrity as a journalist was questioned after she interviewed her husband after a match. On Instagram alone, she has more than 2m followers.
9. Andrea Tantaros
An intrepid political journalist on Fox News, Tantaros has also been a co-host of the popular Outnumbered show on the Fox News Channel, though is perhaps most famous for being one of the original co-hosts of The Five.
However, Tantaros left Fox News in 2016 after she sued them for sexual harassment in 2016 which she claimed came from a trio of established news anchors working at the station, including Bill O'Reilly, Dean Cain, and Scott Brown.
10. Mona Abou Hamze
After gaining a degree in political science from the American University of Beirut, the Lebanese TV personality and presenter hit the ground running with the popular Lebanese show Talk of the Town on MTV, a position she still holds since she presented her first show in April 2009.
Since her surge of popularity, Abou Hamze has sat down with 2000 guests, which range from global celebrities and politicians to painters, and athletes. Segments of the show have also been devoted to an array of social and humanitarian issues.
11. Yanet Garcia
Another Mexican television presenter to make the list is Yanet Garcia, whose daily weather forecasts proved so popular they were eventually given their own YouTube channel.
Because of her good looks and signature dance moves when presenting the forecast, she once had the fastest growing non-default subreddit when one of her forecasts first went viral in 2015. She has also graced the cover of Mexico's Maxim magazine and recently found herself in a high profile relationship with the celebrity gamer Fze Censor.
12. Kirsty Gallacher
As one of Britain's premier sports presenters, Kirsty Gallacher's status as one of Britain's most respected sports journalist is well and truly deserved. For most of her distinguished career, Gallacher spent it working as one of the first female presenters on Sky Sports News, the British equivalent of ESPN's Sports Centre.
She has also appeared on an array of reality shows and presented a series of sporting events covered by U.K. broadcasters. Now 42, Gallacher remains a popular presenter, especially with male fans for her striking good looks.

Robin Michelle Meade has had an incredible journalistic career, one which started as a contestant on Miss Ohio, an accolade which she won. Tamron Hall has fast become of the country's most respected American broadcast journalists. A former news anchor for NBC News, MSNBC, and a co-host of Today's Take, Hall now hosts Deadline: Crime on Investigation Discovery channel.

15. Jenna Lee
Rounding off the list is the beautiful Jenna Lee, an American journalist and ex-Fox News Channel host who gained fame for presenting Happening Now alongside Jon Scott. She got that job after sending in a limited showreel of her time presenting snippets of business news as an intern at Forbes.
